Traces of Four (Spuren von vier)
2025 – 2026

In this two-layered work, I bring together the skin textures of four family members from different generations on a shared transparent surface. I folded each of these fine lines by hand—a physical act through which traces of other bodies become part of my own bodily experience.

A blue layer beneath the surface makes visible what would otherwise remain imperceptible within the relief of the skin. Through the act of folding, the traces of different bodies are not simply reproduced but encountered through my own hands. Time across generations becomes tangible, inscribed through the surface of the skin.

I understand skin here not simply as a boundary between bodies, but as a surface on which bodies and time become legible through their traces. The lines taken from the skin of different generations come together on a single surface, and through the act of folding, these traces enter into a new relationship.
